Jennifer Ciccarelli is honored and excited to be Marlborough School’s ninth Head of School.
Prior to joining the Marlborough community, Jennifer was Head of Columbus School for Girls (CSG) in Columbus, OH. During her eight years at CSG, she put many systems in place to ensure that the School not only thrived, but also became nationally recognized as a leading independent school for girls. Focusing on excellence and intention, Jennifer helped CSG refine the academic program. Through a bold strategic plan, Inspiring Girls, Cultivating Leaders, she created a premier preschool-12 grade computer science program for girls to help build a pipeline of female computer scientists and engineers. She also launched the Center for Girls and Young Women’s Leadership. Focusing on faculty excellence, Jennifer raised teachers’ salaries, provided a robust professional development program, and put in place a growth-focused evaluation system. Recognizing the critical role that cultural competency, equity, and belonging play in academic excellence, Jennifer worked with CSG’s board of trustees, faculty, staff, alumnae, and families to create a robust Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging program. After reorganizing CSG’s development department, Jennifer secured the three largest gifts in the School’s history, which became the foundation for the successful Power and Promise capital campaign. Prior to serving as Head of CSG, Jennifer was the Middle School Director and Assistant Head of the Winsor School in Boston, MA, where she taught English and guided faculty hiring, retention, evaluation, and professional development. Jennifer also held leadership and teaching positions at the Girls Middle School (CA) and Greenwich Academy (CT). Having been supported by powerful female mentors throughout her career, Jennifer enjoys supporting future and current leaders in independent schools. She serves as a mentor for Master’s degree candidates in the Private School Leadership Program at Teachers College, Columbia University (NY), and for aspiring female leaders in the Women’s Leadership Seminar at the Heads Network. Jennifer serves on the boards of the Heads Network and the International Coalition of Girls Schools, and she serves on the Accreditation Review Committee for ISACS.
 
Jennifer is thrilled to be a part of the Marlborough community. She lives in Hancock Park with her daughter, Perry Ciccarelli ’28, her husband, Chad Perry, and their dog, Peggy. When she is not thinking about the fascinating, complex world of independent school education or girls and women’s leadership, Jennifer enjoys playing board games, exploring her new community, and listening to music with Perry, Chad…and Peggy!
