Our Core Tenets
We are 200 school heads and administrators of independent schools in the US and Canada, engaged in active collaboration and professional growth as independent school heads and leaders who care about the education of girls and the development of women leaders.
Through the years, The Heads Network has evolved to include both coeducational and single gender schools. In 2015 the organization officially changed its name from the National Association of Principals of Girls Schools (NAPGS) to The Heads Network, keeping the original purpose and mission of advancing girls' and women’s leadership in independent schools and embarking on additional initiatives that continue to strengthen the network of school heads and cultivating the next generation of women leaders.
The Heads Network is led by Executive Director, Margaret ‘Sissy’ Wade and a board of trustees.
The Heads Network is operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes as a tax exempt 501(c)(3) entity.
